AUDIO & VIDEO ENTRY

Audio and video entry systems are a very simple and cost effective way of controlling access into a building and identifying the visitor prior to the door being released to gain entry.

This type of system generally works in conjunction with an electric lock or strike on the door but they are also commonly used to operate automatic gates, barriers or traffic bollards on car parks and driveways.

The principle of this type of entry is simple.

The visitor to the building initiates a call from the entry panel at the door or gate and holds a 2 way conversation with the person who answers the call. Internally, the person answering the call can then decide based on the conversation and/or video image whether or not to release the door, gate, barrier or traffic bollard using a button which is generally built into the audio handset. Upon operation of the button, a signal is sent to the electric lock, strike, gate, barrier or bollard and access is granted. Audio entry systems are designed for a 2 way audio conversation while a video entry system has a camera built into the entry panel and a monitor built into the internal handset thus allowing the person answering the call to view the caller.

Audio entry systems can be supplied in lots of variations to suit particular applications. Internal and external entry panels, weatherproof and vandal resistant, brass or stainless steel.

From a simple 1 button entry panel to 1 audio handset systems that can be installed on residential properties and office environments to multi button entry panels calling a number of apartments or offices.

A range of wire free equipment is also available dependant on site conditions and system requirements.

Audio/video entry systems can have access control systems built into them for the convenience of staff and regular callers. It is common to have either a keypad or a proximity reader built into the entry panel to provide an authorised access into the building for staff.

Digital audio/video entry systems are also available and can be included in a written specification/quotation upon request, pending the completion of a site survey.
